<B>Engraved Ladies' Silver Sash Buckle.</B></I> 65 x 91 mm, ca. 1850s-1860s. The style of this imported English product hearkens back to the early 19th century; however, it is marked “Sterling” and, as such, likely dates to mid-century. The face is engraved with floral designs while the owner's name, “R E Payne”, whose husband rode with Mosby, appears on the underside. This buckle is from the Payne Family of Warrenton, Virginia.
