The rear of the lock is marked with a circle with the Hollis & Sons logo in the center and "MAKERS TO HER MAJESTYS / WAR DEPARTMENT" around the inner edge and "I. HOLLIS & SONS" ahead of the hammer. Iron mountings, solid under barrel rib with wooden ramrod secured by three pipes, grip extension on the trigger guard and mounted with a massive straight grip half stock with checkered wrist, iron buttplate and brass initial oval.
