Engraved Gold Inlaid Ithaca Model Grade 5E Single Barrel Shotgun
The Knick model trap gun was originally introduced in 1922. It features twin ivory bead sights on the matte vent rib, 2-3/4 inch chamber, choke gauges at full with an ejector. The receiver is casehardened and features broad leaf floral engraving with rosettes and matte background, a gold inlaid pheasant scene on the left side and a gold inlaid woodcock scene on the right side. The lower rear sides of the barrel have a broad floral scroll engraved pattern. The bottom of the receiver is marked "MADE IN U.S.A. / ITHACA GUN Co / ITHACA, N.Y.". Mounted with a checkered semi beaver tail forearm and pistol grip stock with contrasting grip cap, Fleur-de-Lis checkered wrist, raised comb and solid Kick-Ezz recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 1/8".

Condition: Excellent. The barrel retains 99% original blue finish with mild muzzle and high edge wear. The trigger guard retains 50% thin original blue finish with the tang having a smooth gray patina. The action retains 80% original case colors, some fading, with the balance having a smooth gray patina. The wood is also excellent with 99% plus original finish, a few mild scratches and handling marks, and sharp checkering. Crisp and clear engraving. Mechanically excellent.
