English Tall Clock W/ Automation dial, Circa 1875. The carved walnut case has long fluted columns and scrolled leaf work, the door and lower panel also have a carved head with wings. The bonnet matches the base with fluted columns and leaf carvings in the upper corners. The 8 day, 2 weight time and strike movement has a stacked double bell, striking simultaneously. The 10.75"dial has a gold finish with pierced leafy filigree, a silvered chapter ring with black numbers and a silvered sub-second dial located just below 12 o'clock. Minute and hour hands are rusted. At the arch of the dial are three figures. Centered is a man leaning on an hourglass holding a scythe and a trident, standing left and right is a figural putti, one holding a bow and the other an arrow, their back hands hold a hammer and are animated, each striking a bell simultaneously with the bell in the movement. 21.5"W x 97"H x 13"D.
