Early two-digit Colt prewar .22 caliber Ace semi-automatic pistol, blue finish, checkered wood stocks, shipped to Morgan Stedman, Hartford Conn. August,1st 1931, one gun in shipment, SERIAL NUMBER 18. Under remarks on factory letter, “The above mentioned firearm was processed on Colt factory order 19896/1”. Under remarks the records do not indicate the pull of this pistol (however the notation of factory order would indicate some special work was done). The pistol remains in very good to near fine original condition with approx. 90-95% original blue, some thinning on instrap and edges, some minor scratches, slight handling and use. The grips are crisp, near excellent, with sharp checkering, markings sharp, interior also excellent with correct Colt Ace marked early two-tone clip. It would be difficult to obtain lower serial number for Colt Ace series. Est.:$4,000-$8,000
