This is an exceptional, rare Navajo Native American Indian necklace showing fine No. 8 Turquoise mine stones. The necklace shows a cable construction with sterling clasp, heishi shell beads, and polished No. 8 turquoise beads with a large No. 8 turquoise mine polished nugget showing the exceptional Spider Web Matrix that has made this stone one of the most sought after in North America. The mine was discovered by those seeking gold in circa 1925 and first mined in 1929 located in Eureka County, Nevada. The mine has been shut down and depleted since 1976 making the No. 8 turquoise very scarce. The necklace is 26"L with a 1 5/8"x1 1/8"x1 1/8" nugget.
