The lot features a small trade knife beaded sheath from the Lakota Sioux Native American Indians. The sheath shows an Indian tanned hide construction with glass trade seed bead work in a traditional geometric pattern. The beadwork shows butterscotch yellow, greasy yellow, red white hearts, chalk white, medium green, sky padre blue, and semi-transparent dark blue. The piece appears to be sinew sewn and shows both petit and normal seed bead along with a nice even patina, a nice attribution of age. The piece appears to have a good age and shows a small museum collection tag with two ID Numbers. Provenance: From an Old West and American Indian colleciton from Great Falls, Montana. Without the drop, and hanging strap, the scabbard measures 6 3/8" long, and 2" wide. Measures 13 inches long overall with fringe and the original Indian tanned hide tie.
