Manufactured from 1957 until 1960 this highly polished Presentation pistol is equipped as follows. Installed on the pistol is an eight inch tapered barrel with a muzzle brake, both a two ounce and a four ounce barrel weight, fixed front sight and an adjustable rear sight. Other features include a gold serrated trigger and safety, a serrated grip frame, a detachable ten round magazine, and high gloss checkered grips with a right hand thumbrest and gold High Standard medallions. Inside of a lightly engraved border on the right side of the slide are the serial and model number over a gold inscription that reads " Curtis E Le May " and "GENERAL U.S.A.F.". Included in this package are a light oak case with a High Standard emblem attached to the inside of the lid, a rare 10 inch barrel with both weights, and muzzle brake, again all highly polished with a fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight. Also with this gun is a copy of a typed letter from General LeMay on his personal letterhead describing a number of guns transferred from his personal collection including: "High Standard Model 102 Supermatic Trophy caliber 22 L.R., serial number 812684 stating "This pistol was presented to me by the HIGH STANDARD Factory. This pistol is cased in a wooden box with an 8" and 10" barrel" also has barrel weights and other accessories." General Curtis LeMay first gained recognition leading the 8th Air Force bomber raids against Germany in 1943 and 1944. In 1945 he led the B-29 raids against the Japanese home islands and during the Cold War he was the Commanding General of the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command. General Curtis LeMay retired from the U.S. Air Force on Feb. 1, 1965.

Near new in box with light scattered collector type handling marks. The extra barrel is in new condition. The case is very fine. A truly extraordinary example of a one-of-a-kind High Standard Pistol. Writer knows of no other example.
