This Second Model 1890 with the takedown frame was manufactured in 1901. Blued with casehardened frame, hammer, trigger guard and buttplate. Dovetail front and sporting rear sights with the standard two line address and "22 SHORT" on the top barrel flat. The upper tang has the three line model/patent marking. 12 groove rounded forearm and plain straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The included Buffalo Bill Historical Center information states that the factory records confirm the serial number, rifle configuration, caliber, octagon barrel and casehardened receiver and states that the rifle was received at the warehouse on March 12, 1901 and shipped March 14, 1901.

Condition: Fine. The barrel and magazine retain 70% original blue finish thinning to a brown patina with extensive slide wear. The frame, hammer, trigger guard, and buttplate retain 40% original case colors, otherwise a brown-gray patina with some minor pitting on the frame. The wood is fine with some minor dings and scratches, with a series of minor pressure dents on the buttstock (right side). Mechanically excellent.
