This is marked at the base of the blade "Coulaux and C Klingenthal" According to our consignor, it was purchased in France during the 1950s or early 60s by her husband, but no other information was provided.

The overall size is 38-3/4 inches long x 7-3/4 inches wide. The blade is unsharpened and tarnished; we have made no attempt to clean it. The handle has two pieces and the guard is loose.

Klingenthal was created by King Louis XV as a state-controlled sword maker in 1733; they produced swords until the 19th century. We have very little information from the consignor, so this is sold as found.
