Colt model 1878 double action frontier revolver, .44-40 caliber 7—1/2” barrel, blued finish, hardrubber grips, serial number “49715”. The Colt remains in very good to near fine original condition showing 80-90% original blue, some flaking mostly on the barrel, edges, and gripping areas. The edges are super sharp and crisp, the grips near fine. Bright original blue on original parts and screws. Hammer shows its original bright polish and bright blue on back. The markings are sharp, the edges are crisp, the bore near excellent, and the front sight is its full height. The left side of the barrel shows desirable roll-dye marking of “Colt Frontier Six Shooter”. An exceptional 1878 in desirable caliber and barrel length.
