Colt U.S.M.C. marked New Service Model 1909 DA revolver, .45 cal., 5-1/2” barrel, blue finish, checkered wood grips, #26097 (No. 1097 on butt strap). Although the factory letter on this New Service is 26095 and not 26097, it is a correctly marked USMC and likely was also in the referenced shipment of 400 guns in the letter to the US Government Depot Quartermaster, US Marine Corps in Philadelphia, PA on November 30, 1909. This gun is in overall good to very good condition showing approx. 65% original blue finish, good bore, action, markings and grips. Lanyard ring retained and the gun is accompanied by a USMC marked military flap holster that is in overall fair + condition showing cracking and some flaking. Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
