Colt U.S. Cavalry Model SAA revolver, .45 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #119069. This gun is in overall very good condition showing muted original blue in the protected areas of the ejector rod housing and a lightly polished patina on the barrel assembly and cylinder with scattered areas of erosion and some pin prick pitting; the frame shows some slight remnants of case color in protected areas as does the hammer; the bore is overall good with just a couple spots of light pitting; the action is crisp, the markings are sharp including inspector initials and proofs on the frame, barrel cylinder and bottom of left grip (D.F.C. for David F. Clark). The grips are in overall good condition showing wear and loss of varnish but a respectable portion of the cartouche remains on the lower right grip. This U.S. Colt is accompanied by a John Kopec letter dated July 28, 1999, and indicates this revolver was previously in the famous Charles DuPont collection. A really nice honest Cavalry Model. Est.: $16,000-$18,000.
