Colt SAA U.S. Cavalry .45 cal SN 9185 revolver 2nd year production 1874, 7 1/2" barrel inspected by Orville W Ainsworth, walnut one piece grips with visible OWA cartouche. Revolver shows gray to brown natural patina with light scattered pin prick pit 2nd year production 1874, 7 1/2" barrel inspected by Orville W Ainsworth, walnut one piece grips with visible OWA cartouche. Revolver shows gray to brown natural patina with light scattered pin prick pitting, somewhat moderate around front of cylinder area. Markings sharp to good including barrel address, patent lines U.S. and the serial numbers all matching including barrel. Inspector stamp "A" visible on bottom of barrel, cylinder, trigger guard and backstrap, not on frame as was the standard for serial numbers 182-19,389 ( Ref. Keith Cochran-Cavalry, Artillery and Militia Revolvers, p. 20). Grips good showing wear consistent to gun, shrunken or lightly sanded to frame, with visible A to bottom of left side. Functioning action, poor bore. Manufactured 1874, NO FFL required.
