Second Model, produced in 1877 with a 2 3/4 inch barrel. Blue finish with casehardened frame and bird head grips. Standard two line Hartford barrel address, etched "COLT NEW 38" on the left barrel side, and "38 C" on the left side of the frame. Matching numbers on cylinder, barrel and frame.

Condition: Very good. The barrel and cylinder retain traces of original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance a smooth brown patina. The frame retains strong traces of original case colors in the protected areas with the balance a smooth gray patina. The etched panel is legible. There is a hairline crack on the left grip panel and a small chip missing from the right panel, otherwise the grips are very good with most of the varnish remaining, some high edge wear and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
