Colt Model 1871-72 Open Top cartridge single action revolver, .44 RF cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, varnished wood grips, #3570. This gun is in overall excellent condition showing approx. 85% original blue and approx. 95% original case colors, all matching visible serial numbers with a fine bore, crisp action and sharp markings; the grips are very good to excellent with scattered nicks and mars from storage and the number “91” stamped on the lower left grip; the gun is also marked “U.S.C. Co.” on the top of the backstrap for U.S. Cartridge Co. collection and is stamped #91 on the underside of the barrel. This is one of the best conditioned Open Tops we have seen in years and is further desirable given its provenance to the U.S. Cartridge Co.’s collection. Est.: $25,000-$35,000.
