Manufactured in 1855. This revolver is one of 800 Colt London Navy revolvers purchased by the Government of Canada in 1855. 556 of these revolvers were issued to the Upper Canada militia. The left side of the grip is stamped with the unit designation "UC/D/27" (Upper Canada Militia,, Company D (First York Troop), Revolver No. 27). The revolver has the distinctive London Navy features which include the large oval iron trigger guard, iron back strap with extended hammer slot, bordered hammer knurling and high rounded screw heads. The top barrel flat is roll-stamped "-ADDRESS. COL: COLT. LONDON.-" with arrows at either end of the marking. "COLTS/PATENT" is stamped on the left side of the frame. The cylinder is roll-engraved with the Texas Navy battle scene, "COLTS PATENT NO.22235" marking and London "Crown/V" and "Crown/GP" proofs and inspection marks are stamped on the left side of the barrel lug and on the cylinder over each chamber. The full serial number is stamped on the loading lever, bottom of the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, back strap, cylinder pin and on the cylinder, with the partial number "2235" on the wedge. Brass post front, hammer notch rear sights and fitted with a varnished one piece walnut grip.

Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 30% original blue finish on the barrel mixed with a smooth gray patina. The cylinder has a smooth brownish gray patina , with clear scene. The trigger guard and back strap have a smooth mottled brown patina with 25% original blue finish, mostly in the protected areas. The frame shows some original case colors on the left side, with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The grip remains fine with numerous scattered minor dings and handling marks. All markings are clear. The action is excellent.
