Colt Lightning magazine slide action rifle, .32-20 caliber 26” octagon barrel, fancy pistol grip checkered stock, sold to Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co. Shipped to E. A. McArthur, July 15, 1895, one gun in shipment, with all featured verified by factory letter, except originally shipped with a Lyman Ivory-bead front sight, now showing a blade inlet into original dovetail. The rifle remains in very good original condition showing 75-85% original condition overall, drifting to patina, with some slight scratches, minor erosion, pinprick pitting. The left side of the frame shows a clear Colt logo. The stocks are good to very good with some slight wear to the checkering, normal aging, a couple small losses and some light cleaning with steel wood, but not sanding. The markings are sharp, the action crisp, the bore very good. Very limited number of Colt lightning’s were factory supplied with factory pistol grip stocks. Est: $4,000 - $6,000
