Colt 1851 Navy revolver, .36 caliber percussion, US Martially issued, slight traces of blue and case hardened, cartouched wood grips, serial #77495. The metal surfaces show a lightly cleaned grey to brown patinafinish with faint traces of case hardening and blue where protected. There is some scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting, the heavier pitting occurring at the breech, front of cylinder, a few places on the barrel. The markings are good, cylinder retains approx. 40-60% original scene. The grips are very good with small losses at the toe and faintly visible cartouches on each grip. All matching visible serial numbers. The revolver shows “A” inspections with other sub-inspections. The type 1851 Navy issued to the army. Dr. Sterling Fenn collection. Est: $3,000 - $5,000
