1) Moore, Scantlebury & Coote British Royal Navy Captains epaulettes, cocked hat and belt in storage tin. The epaulettes are composed of gold lace and bullion with a silvered embroidered anchor with an embroidered crown above it. The cocked hat is black felt with gold lace around the outside edge. There is twisted gold bullion wire decorations in the folds and on the side over a cockade. The sweat band is white skived leather with a paper size label marked "7 1/4". There is a white silk lining with gold embossed "Gieves Ltd" label. The belt was produced by Moore, Scantlebury & Coote and has three gold embroidered strips on the face with a black leather backing and gilt hardware. All items are stored in a black japanned tin with bluish purple cloth interior. 2) W. Cater & Co. busby cap. The exterior is brown fur with gold bullion cord around the lower edge and a red cloth bag with gold bullion trim hanging from the top. There is a 14 inch tall red feather plume emerging out of the top front over a gilt bullion field badge. The chin chain is gilt decorated metal with a red leather backing. There is a brown leather sweat band with a gold and red silk lining with a gold embossed "W. CATER & Co." label. 3) 1 3/4 inch wide black leather belt stamped "BOSTON/HEAVY DUTY/GUN BELT" with the size "36" stamped next to it. The buckle is nickeled and has "NON-RUST", "U.S.A." and an anchor on the backside. 4) Life Guards Trooper tunic. Composed of heavy red fabric with a white silk lining. There are two gold lace chevrons on the sleeves, dark blue epaulettes with gold lace around the outside edge, gold lace on the collar and silvered buttons having a lion standing on the King's crown over a cypher. There is a label marked "TUNIC.MANS Life Guards/Troopers" on the inside with an illegible handwritten name in black marker. Sized for a 5 foot 11 inch tall man with 36 inch chest and 31 inch waist.

Condition: 1) The epaulettes are good with one having a missing embroidered crown and the anchor is slightly loose. The underside has black leather with a gold embossed label and padded blue fabric. All of the gold remains bright. The cocked hat is very good with some wear along the edges, the sweat band has some loose stitching and the gold has darkened with age. The stitching which holds the hat in the folded position has come loose. The belt is very good with considerable flaking of the black leather backing. The gold embroidery and gilt components have a generally bright appearance. The tin is very good with some scattered light dents and scratches with the latch and epaulette shelves broken. 2) Very good, The fur has some areas where it is detaching/deteriorating. There is some minor wear and insect tracking on the bag. Several areas of the chin chain have become unstitched and there are some bent links. The sweat band and lining are fine. The gold bullion cord has dulled with age. 4) Fine, with some minor wear overall. There is a faded ink stamp and an illegible blue handwritten marking on the lining.
