For bidding in this lot is a small collection of early ephemera, originating from the Montana Territory, and the State of Montana. The collection hold six pieces; the bulk is in the form of four paychecks from the "S.R. Buford & CO., Grocers" from Virginia City, M.T. & MT. The checks date to 1888, 1889, 1892, and 1893. The fifth piece is a check from the "First National Bank of Helena", and dates to 1881. The final piece is a handwritten post-card, sent from Helena, and originating from 1891. The collection has been well preserved, and shows good condition overall. The S.R. Buford checks are the largest pieces in the lot, and measure 8 3/8" long, and 3 5/8" tall.
