Cased Set of Belgian Percussion Single Shot Target Pistols, as originally converted from flintlock, .60 cal., 9-3/8'' swamped barrels marked ''HL/SB'' with Liege proof for standard black powder test; barrels are browned with lovely Damascus twist beneath; adjustable triggers, small windage adjustable German silver front sight in 1/16'' slot, lightly engraved case finished dolphin-head hammers with similarly adorned lockplate, left sideplates and screws, as well as finger-rest triggerguard, ramrod ferrules and butt caps, with light early 19th Century decorations; finely checkered European walnut full stocks, with bone-tipped horn rammers, one tipped with jag and the other with patch eyelet. Green baize-lined brass-appointed walnut-fitted case with ladle, extra rammers, powder flask, bullet mold, flint knapping hammer, and full accessories. Spring compressor may be of a later vintage. Condition to both is fine showing very light use and thinning to case hardened portions of sideplates. Minor nicks and light impressions to stocks. Small fissure emanating from one of the barrel wedge areas. Small worming in places to horn rammers, which cannot be seen when rods are installed. Interior of case with some oil darkening, minor mothing, fraying, and discoloration. All accessories are at least fine with some thinning to case colors on bullet mold. Exterior of case with some separation to front edge of lid. Est.: $6,000-$8,000. (Antique)
