Cased Colt 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver, #159362, .36 cal., 7-1/2'' blue barrel and cylinder, case hardened hammer, frame and loading rod; silver-plated brass backstrap and triggerguard, with one-piece varnished walnut grip. Mfg'd 1863. In dusty rose cotton velveteen lined mahogany case with American style partitions, brass hinges and steel locking hardware, which includes an iron Colt marked two-cavity .36 cal. Navy bullet mold. Revolver is in fine overall condition retaining approx. 90% blue to barrel assembly with thinning, mild toning and moderate knackering to right side around wedge. Cylinder retains approx. 30% thinning blue, and naval engagement scene remains approx. 50% vivid. Case hardened loading lever shows 85% brilliant hues in hinge area; frame and hammer with approx. 70% muted case colors. Backstrap and triggerguard retain approx. 40% thinning silver. All visible matching numbers, except wedge. Grips retain approx. 75% original varnish with most of the losses to the left side. Screw slots are mostly straight and true. Action remains crisp, bore is fine with just light frosting. Period case with light to moderate exterior scuffs, more pronounced at corners; interior with light discoloration from contact with high edges of revolver. Bullet mold with light patina and possibly some touchup. A nice original Civil War period Colt Navy revolver in exceptional condition. Est.: $3,500-$5,000. (Antique)
