For your consideration is this classic C. Andersson Hunting knife made in Mora Sweden. Since 1891, Mora has been home to many famous cutlers. Mora made knives were noted for their ability to hold a superior edge while being easy to sharpen. Bud-Carl Andersson's were no exception. He also began making knives around the turn of the Century, and though Andersson died in 1925, the factory bearing his name continued to manufacture knives up through 1955. In 1955, under the name "Mora-borren", Bud-Carl Andersson's knife factory started to manufacture ice drills that soon became world famous for their extremely sharp auger blades. Dating to the first half of the 20th Century, this C. Anderson knife features a laminated carbon steel blade, birch handle with nickel-plated bottom and top bolsters with a rounded pommel. The blade is stamped "C.Anderson/ Mora Sweden" on one side, and "Made in Sweden" on the other side. It comes in its own leather stitched and riveted sheath. The knife is sharp and in good condition75.; the sheath is also in good condition for its age, though it is missing some stitching. The knife is 8.5" long with a 3.75" x 1" blade. The sheath is 9" x 2".
