Breech loading percussion shotgun signed “Invention Picherau, Brevetee A Paris” in gold on the rib between barrels. This unusual mechanism hinges up allowing breech loading similar to Pauly design. The gun measures 37” overall with barrels of approximately 21” in 20 gauge smoothbore. The metal surfaces show some light to moderate pitting and erosion with some staining and darkening. The stocks are fair to good with normal wear, small losses and minor restorations. The action workswell. A very interesting oddity and mechanism. Est.: $3000-$6000
