Rare The Beatles Show vintage program for performances held at the Gaumont Cinema in Bournemouth, England, on August 19–24, 1963, measures 8 x 10.5, twelve pages, signed on the inside of the front cover next to their respective images in blue fountain pen by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and John Lennon. The program is also signed inside by Billy Kramer, Tommy Quickly, and Billy Baxter. In very good condition, with a central vertical fold throughout, scattered creasing, and a few spots of soiling to blank borders of signed page. Accompanied by letters of authenticity from Beckett, Perry Cox, and noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, who states: "These images were shot in 1962 (just after Ringo joined The Beatles) by German photographer and close friend of The Beatles from their Hamburg days, Astrid Kirchherr…This program was signed in when The Beatles played 6 consecutive dates at the Gaumount Cinema in Bournemouth, England, between the dates of August 19th and 24th." The Beatles became well-suited to the cinema circuit during their 1963 Summer UK tour. Separated by stops in Blackpool and Torquay, the band played six nights at Llandudno's Odeon Cinema in Wales from August 12–17, six nights at Bournemouth's Gaumont Cinema in England from August 19–24, and then six more nights at Southport's Odeon Cinema in England from August 26th to the 31st—and to the thrill of those in attendance, the Beatles played two energetic shows per night, at 6:30 p.m. and 8.50 p.m. While in Bournemouth, the Beatles stayed at the Palace Court hotel on each night of the residency; on August 22nd, photographer Robert Freeman joined The Beatles at the Palace Court to take a series of photos for the cover of their second studio album, With the Beatles.
