He studied at Academie de la Palette in Paris, and soon began exhibiting at Salon d'Automne and Salon des Ind pendants. His work was inspired by the Cubism styles of his era, and he became a member of Section d'Or, which had a group show in New York. After serving in WW I, he went on to pursue a more naturalistic style. He worked in oils, water colors, and later etchings. His art can be found in many public collections, including the Mus e de l'Ile. There is also a museum of his work at his birthplace, Boussy-St-Antoine, near Paris. *
