Allen and Thurber .36 caliber percussion target pistol with removable shoulder stock. Approx. 13” heavy octagon barrel, deluxe checkered wood grip and should stock. Fancy silvered and hand-engraved patchbox, adjustable set trigger, tang mounted peep sight, marked Allen and Thurber & Co, Worchester. #45. Cast steel, with American eagle stamp front and rear of barrel address. Refer Flayderman 5A-010. The pistol remains in good original condition showing an even patina finish , some scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting, slightly heavier pitting at the breech area from firing. The metal surfaces as re generally good. The stock and grip are in matching condition, some darkening and oil staining. There is a grip cap screw missing. The patchbox is very nicely engraved with scrolls and flowers and the portrait of a reclining leopard. The buttplate shows some dark patina and some erosion. A metal tipped old ramrod is included. The pistol shows original tang peep sight and a false muzzle that is removable.
