Ink and watercolor on silk, hanging scroll, featuring birds and peony, signed and after Yun Shouping (Chinese, 1633-1690), inscribed with 1 artist seal, 84 x 38 cm, Yun was a major artist of the early Chinese Qing dynasty. He was regarded as one of the "Six Masters" of the Qing period. Yun's style was vibrant and expressive; he attempted to display the inner vitality and spirit of his subjects in painting.
