<Br>Mr. Edward Boylan and The Gallery Tikowi Collection of New Guinea Art and Material Culture Mr. Edward Boylan in has been an avid collector and trader of New Guinea art for the majority of his adult life. During the early 1970s he became involved with The Paulian Association (also known as the Paulian Missionary Society). During this time and over a period of 20 years Edward Boylan curated an extraordinary collection of New Guinea Material Culture all of which was acquired directly in the field. He established Gallery Tikowi in Cairns, Queensland, Australia and has been actively involved in the promotion of Arts from New Guinea. His collection until recently totalled several thousand works of New Guinea tribal art. Mr. Edward Boylan recently retired and has dispersed his collection of which over 240 pieces are offered for sale in this auction.
