<B>Sharon Connally Ammann Specially Commissioned Bronze Bust.</B></I> A life-sized bronze bust of a person of the purchaser's choice to be sculpted by Sharon Connally Ammann. Sharon is the daughter of former Texas Gov. and Mrs. John B. Connally, Jr. Ammann has done many portrait sculptures including a life-sized full figure of Gov. Connally that stands in Connally Plaza in Heritage Park in downtown Houston; a life-sized full figure sculpture of former Texas Lt. Gov. Bob Bullock, which stands at the entrance to the Texas State Museum in Austin, Texas; and a life-sized sculpture of a student sitting on a bench commissioned by the Morris Atlas family, which sits outside the entrance to the Texas Ex-Students' Association building. Mrs. Ammann has also sculpted life-sized bronze busts of, among others, former First Lady Lady Bird Johnson, former Congressman J.J. "Jake" Pickle, former Houston Mayor Bob Lanier, a bust of former Gov. Connally that sits in the Connally Building at the U.T.School of Law, former Texas First Lady Nellie Connally, and numerous others. Prices for Sharon's sculptures have ranged as high as $100,000. All proceeds from donated lots in the auction, commissions from consigned lots, and the buyer's premium go solely to the Texas State Historical Association. The floor auction session is by invitation only. Online bidding ends March 3, 2006 at 10:00PM CT. Your secret maximum bid will compete for you during the floor auction, and it is possible that you may be outbid on the floor after internet bidding closes. The applicable buyer's premium for this auction is an amount equal to 15% (minimum $9 per lot) of the successful bid on ebay. State law requires lots consigned (not donated) to THSA collect full sales tax on items that sell for a total of $5,000 or more. </b>
