Of willow-leaf form, the iron mounts comprising a circular, flanged guard with rectangular ferrule and pommel, all pierced, chiseled, and silver inlaid with parcel-gilding. The long wooden grip retains its original elaborate cord wrap. The blade pattern-welded, with much original pattern evident, and pierced and inlaid in brass at the forte in a coin motif. Each side bears a pair of narrow grooves, the longer of which reaches nearly to the tip. Latter 17th century. General wear, edge nicked. Overall length 83.3 cm. Condition III
