Pre-Columbian, from ancient Peru, ca. Canopas were typically carved from solid hard stone with a central hole in their backs, the holes were then filled with coca leaves and animal tallow. These were then thrown into the fields in an offering to the mother god (Pacchamama) to ask for a healthy breeding season and crops. The smallest canopa has dewlaps and measures 2-1/2"T x 3"L while the other measures 2-1/2"T x 4-1/2"L, both intact with typical surface wear, as shown.
