Pair of mid 19th Century English Victorian Staffordshire porcelain fairing, trinket, jewel boxes. Dresser style with pocket watches, vivid colors & gold gilt remains. Correct marks on bottom. *tallest has a rare & unusual pocket watch inside a basket design, but is missing two dresser accouterments. 5" H X 3 1/4" W X 2 3/4" D. * shorter box has minor chipping to edge of one accouterment. 4"H X 3 1/4" W X 2 1/2" D. * Fairing boxes were given as prizes at fairs during Victorian times, thus the name "fairing" box. First appearing in the mid 1800's, they continued in production until the early 20thc.Â
