Sought-after 1959 Fender Musicmaster electric guitar, serial no. 40881, featuring a Desert Sand finish and rosewood fretboard on a typical slim neck. Introduced in 1955 as Fender's first student model guitar, the Musicmaster was crafted with the same quality of workmanship as any Strat or Tele of that period. 1959 was the first year it was offered with a rosewood fretboard. The Desert Sand finish has some modest play wear and the fret wear is also very reasonable for its age. Complete with its original hard case and leather strap. Any 'pre-CBS' Fender guitar, made prior to the brand's merger with CBS in 1965, is extremely desirable.
