1935-67 Brian Cornwell’s Worst Dollars
1935 to 1967 Brian Cornwell’s Worst Silver Dollar Collection. For twenty-five years Brian searched diligently for the worst example of each date, down-grading as more suitable pieces were found. The set is nearly complete, missing only the 1956, 1960 and 1961. Included are 1947 Pointed, Blunt and Maple Leaf ranging from Below Poor to G-6, and the 1948 is G-4. One of the highest graded pieces in the collection is the 1955 Arnprior, a VG-8. To grade the set, Brian had to create new grades, and his 1935 and 1958 are graded as ALBP (A Lot Below Poor), while the 1939, 1946, 1947 Blunt and 1964 are BP (Below Poor). Included in the set is a George VI totally unidentifyable as to date or type, and very obviously a PQ example of an ALBP. Housed in a Library of Coins album with a copy of the Canadian Coin News colunm Brian wrote on the collection, detailing the grades. A total thirty-one pieces, ALBP to VG-8, none with problems, only honest wear. With the set is the first ICCS Population Report, 1 January 1990, signed by Brian Cornwell, President of ICCS
