"Bacchanale Scene" Italian School, 18th century dated, 1785 pen and sepia ink drawing on paper framed behind glass image: 24.5cm x 32cm framed: 40cm x 46cm Very fine quality 18th century Italian Old Master sepia ink drawing depicting this Roman Bacchanale orgy scene, with various nude figures and Bacchus seated to the right. Executed with exceptional quality detailing, as well as large scale composition. The work is inscribed in Roman numerals with the date, 1785. The drawing has previously been appraised by the eminent Parisian based Old Master Drawings firm of experts, the Cabinet Bayser. Condition report: The drawing is in overall good condition - natural age related stains and marks as one expects with a work on paper. The top right corner has former damage and retouching. Framed behind glass and mount.
