18CA-8 SCOTTISH BOWIE KNIFEScottish bowie knife with stag grip and sterling silver mountings. Illustrated in “London Knife Makers” book. Measures 15 3/8” overall with a 8 ½” blade marked “South Combe, 130 & 131 Jermyn St”. The butt cap isperiod inscribed “From R.B. to G.B. Bruce”. Fancy initials on the front throat of the scabbard. Nicely hallmarked from the 19th century. Very good condition with minor pitting by blade tip. Many feel Americanbowie knives evolved from Scottish daggers and knives and Bowie was of Scottish descent. Very unusual.
