This is a $100 bank note from the Republic of Texas, dated 1839, which preceeded the Civil War by two decades. It features the portraits of six prominent statesmen. Its condition is very good, and shows age toning. This note comes mounted on ivory matte board, in a gold painted wood frame measuring 5 3/4" x 9 1/4".
This note will be fine for a collector or proud Texan.*This note has not been examined outside the frame. It comes from the Manno estate, and was purchased in Louisiana 35 years ago from a seller who presented it as authentic.
