You are bidding on a Engraved European .45 Caliber Center Fire Officer's Double Action Revolver. The revolver features a 4 1/2" octagon barrel, hand checkered walnut grips, extractor, engraved, and blue'd finish. This beautiful high grade revolver dates to the 1870-1880s period and displays the popular Adams or Trantner style of manufacture that was widely used and popular with officers of the time. The scroll engraving I well executed and the revolver bares the serial number 6303. Beautiful and attractive aged patina metal that shows no sighs of being rusted, pitted, abused or over-cleaned. Original checkered dark walnut grips are excellent and the grip straps retain the original lanyard swivel (these usually missing). Octagon barrel is 4 ½” long and has the original dovetailed blade/bead front sight matched with a pronounced pinched groove ahead of the hammer. Loading gate intact. This high quality revolver was probably chambered for the popular .450 Eley or .455 Eley cartridge, complete with extractor rod mounted on the side of the frame and excellent rifled bore. This is a antique firearm. NO FFL transfer or NICS background check required. The serial number 6303
