Highly detailed hand woven semi antique Persian Lillian rug. Size 5.6 x 6.11 ft, made of fine quality lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation, all natural vegetable dye, incorporating a open field design on pink background; large teardrop centerpiece medallion; crowned corners and finished off beautifully with an intricate floral border. Hand woven in Lillian, Iran. About the history of Lillian: it's a village located south of Sultanabad, began in the 17th century, when a large group of Armenians settled here. Lillian rugs, therefore, are made by the descendants of these Armenian refugees. These rugs are very rare and hand woven by local masters.
