Manufactured between 1863 and 1873 with a total production of about 5,000. Marked "MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS ILION. N.Y./RIDERS. PT. AUG. 17. 1858. MAY 3. 1859." on top barrel flat. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom barrel flat and the left side of the frame under the grip. The left trigger guard shoulder is marked with the letter "E". German silver blade front, frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened hammer and silver plated brass trigger guard. Fitted with smooth varnished walnut grips.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 70% original bright high polish blue finish with some minor muzzle and edge wear on the barrel, flaking on the frame with a smooth brown patina on the exposed metal and a smooth gray patina on the grip straps. The trigger guard has an aged patina with strong traces of original silver in protected areas. The grips are excellent with 97% original varnish remaining, showing a few minor chips on the lower edges and overall some minor dents and dings. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
