This example was manufactured in December of 1943. The barrel is marked "RA/flaming bomb/3-44" behind the blank front sight base. The receiver markings are offset so they are visible with the scope mount installed. The scope base is a Redfield 1-piece base with a Weaver Telescope M73B1 scope mounted. The bolt is stamped "R" on the underside of the bolt knob. Mounted on a smooth "C" stock with an "FJA" cartouche, an ordnance wheel and an "RA" rebuild cartouche on the left wrist, a circled "P" proof on the front of the wrist, a squared "P" rebuild proof on the grip cap area, two reinforcing bolts and a checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor. With a set of leather lens covers and a leather claw sling.

Very fine, 98% of the green parkerized finish remains with some high edge wear and some scratches. The blued components retain 90% blue finish with some high edge wear, some scattered scratches and cycling wear. The lightly sanded reoiled stock is fine with some scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent. The scope has a zig-zag scratch along the exterior length of the blued tube and clear optics. The scope covers and sling are very good.
