Manufactured in 1925. Pinned Marble Sheard blade front and folding ladder right (missing screw) sights, with the model, maker, "NICKEL STEEL BARREL" and caliber markings on the left side of the barrel, the New Haven address on the right, and "S.F.P.D." (the mark of the San Francisco, CA Police Department) behind the rear sight on the left side. Accompanied by two pieces of documentation. The first is a letter from Michael F. Carrick, staff editor for the Gun Report Magazine, confirms that this carbine was one of a number bought by Davis Gun Co. a police supply company and is the only saddle ring carbine out of 80 obtained by Davis Gun Co. from SFPD. Carrick states that the carbine was taken into evidence and pressed into police service at a later time as it was the only saddle ring carbine in the group. Top of barrel and receiver have the factory proof at the breech, with the saddle ring on the left side of the receiver. Smooth stock and forearm with crescent buttplate and single barrel band. Also included is an invoice from the Davis company dated 11/28/1983 and lists the sale price at $75.00 and "this carbine is one of 80 taken in trade from San Francisco Police Department. Stamped "S.F.P.D."
