This is a fantastic image of a stagecoach full of people about to leave the Grand Central Hotel. The photographer is identified as R.J. Waters, landscape photographer of Gold Hill, NV, who was active in the 1880s, but please note that he is listed in Berkeley on this card, which is not listed in Mautz. The matte measures 8.5" x 5.20" and the photograph measures 7.5' x 4.25." The focus is extremely sharp in the center and the contrast is medium. There is some wear on the matte on the upper left corner. The photograph is in fine condition, but there is some fading on the right side. The Grand Central Hotel was not only a stage stop, but it also "provided Wells Fargo banking and stage services." [REF: Lake Tahoe's West Shore by Carol A.
