This early 19th-century Wedgwood cream ware mug is a fine example of a porter tankard featuring a classic creamware body and a slightly tapering cylindrical form. The exterior is decorated with vertical molded ribbing and three sets of horizontal reeded bands at the rim, waist, and base, all highlighted in a bright green slip glaze. The D-shaped strap handle is accented with green transverse bands. The underside is marked with an impressed WEDGWOOD stamp and potter's marks including a v and a crescent. This item features notable provenance with labels from the Earl Buckman Wedgwood Collection dated 1970 and the Rubin Collection number 13011. Large.
