'AC40 code' Early WWII German military semi-automatic service pistol, circa 1940. Features a high luster blued finish, 5" bbl, dovetailed blade front sight, 'u' notched rear window sight, thumb safety/decocker, smooth trigger, serrated hammer spur, steel frame, lanyard loop, 8 round magazine & two-piece grooved black composite grips. Markings: Slide - "P.38", "ac/40", "2926b", [eagle]/359, [eagle]/swastika, & [eagle]/359. Barrel - "2926", [sun], [eagle]88, & "K11". Locking Block - "926b", [eagle]/359, [eagle]/swastika, & "5". Frame - "2926b", [eagle]/359 & "ac". Grips - "926", [eagle]/359, P/1529/1 inside a circle, & Z3/38 inside a circle. Magazine - [eagle]/359 stamped twice, "P.38" and scratched into the magazine are what appear to be "ABRA1", "Don" three times, "Don Rodeghiero", "amy", & "11/18/47". The hammer, trigger, firing pin cover, slide stop & trigger bar are also stamped with an [eagle]/359. Pistol exhibits approximately 90% of it's blued finish showing light holster wear, scattered handling wear/scratches, and some light scattered pitting on the front strap, firing pin cover & safety. Action is smooth, bore is very good+++ and composite grips are fine. Condition is NRA very good. ***C&R Firearm***
