Included in this lot is an Original World War I Imperial German Motorized Troops Officer's Visor Hat, circa 1910-1918. The Imperial German Army (1871–1919), officially referred to as the German Army was the unified ground and air force of the German Empire. It was established in 1871 with the political unification of Germany under the leadership of Prussia, and was dissolved in 1919, after the defeat of the German Empire in World War I. The hat is constructed of dark blue wool with a black cap band, red and white piping along with metal cockade and interior lining. Interior lining features the manufacturer's name, "Chr. Nagel & Sohn, Birkenfeld". Additionally, interior sweatband has pages from a newspaper molded to fit under sweatband. The newspaper is dated 1958, three years before the construction of the Berlin Wall. The hat has a 22" circumference (52cm). Hat is in very nice preserved condition, no marring observed. Measures 10.25" crown x 4.25"H. Weight is U6.
