Incorporated in March 1863. Cert. #463, issued to Thomas Power for 5 shares. Signed by H. B. Corsito, president, and by Thos. Barclay, secretary. Vignette of miner standing at mouth of tunnel with loaded ore cart beside him. (Vignette artist is Loomis). Black border on light green safety printed paper. Printer: Towne & Bacon, S.F. Uncancelled. Applied 25ct. revenue stamp at left. 5.25 x 10.5” Datelined Virginia City. The location of the mine is noted to the left of the vignette. The following year, 1864, Thomas Barclay corresponded with Governor Nye, seeking a commission to be a notary public. Corsito was a lawyer in VC, and lived at the Virginia City Hotel, per Kelley’s directory. Thos. Barclay was a partner in Derham & Co. Liquors in VC, and was also a State Assemblyman. The ubiquitous A.C. Chapman, of Armstrong & Chapman firm, is again the recipient of this stock.
