This is an exceptional unusual Victorian circa 1880’s era long Alaskan Klondike Gold Nugget chain necklace. The gold nuggets are all natural from the Klondike Gold Rush of Alaska and show a purity of 22K to 24K gold. The piece would have been a gift or souvenir from a wealthy tourist in the late 19th Century. Due to their natural formation, each of the 26 gold nuggets are uniquely shaped and vary slightly in size and has been paired with vibrant connector rings of a solid yellow gold. The necklace has a spring clamp. Complete Victorian gold nugget necklaces from the Alaskan Klondike are highly collectible with examples such as this selling routinely for $10,000-$15,000. The necklace measures 15 1/2" when unclasped. The nuggets range in size and approximately 9.5mm by 5.85mm. Total weight is 82 carats.
